Everyone knows that Android M is soon coming out but until that day of reckoning, rumors will have to suffice.
For now, there is no indication as to when Samsung's Galaxy line, which includes S5, S6, and Note 4, would be getting the much-awaited Android M bump; although Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is currently undergoing a massive rollout.
Folks who own any of the above-mentioned Samsung Galaxy devices may have come across the choice to update to Android 5.1.1. The wise move is to, of course, apply the patch.
While it remains to be seen if it does come bug-free — and it would not be surprising if it does offer new issues — the patch does address some glitches which the previous Android operating system (OS) carries, as bared by Android Origin.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update has been released for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 but in select regions. The update for the said device was originally scheduled to come out as early as July for most markets; but it seems that for those who have not been able to get the update, they may not get it at all. Could there have been issues?
Another device that has been provided a glimpse of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop love is the Samsung Galaxy S5. But as with the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, it seems that the roll out has been cut short for some reason. The Android OS has been known to offer a lot of bugs and that could be the case once more.
Despite reported sales issues, the latest Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices are reportedly receiving Android 5.1.1 updates. It also remains to be seen if the S6 or S6 Edge updates would be canceled as in the S5 and the Note 4.
It is a given that Android OS updates will not be 100% perfect and bug-free. However, as far as addressing old bugs and issues is concerned, it may be wise to apply the patches.
Among the expected fixes include one for memory leaks and tweaks that Samsung inserted into the update. Hopefully, these will result in lesser issues and better user experience for owners of the aforementioned handsets.
