Motorola was the quickest one to rollout the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its devices. However, its efforts for the Moto G handsets were brought to a standstill. But now, the company is bringing Google's latest operating system to the old and new versions of the Moto G.

Users of the aforementioned handset in the United States and India are set to get the Android 5.0.2 first when Motorola resumes the rollout set to start in the next few weeks. In addition, owners of the first-generation Moto G living in India will also get a taste of the treat.

"#Lollipop is rolling out in phases to #MotoG (2nd Gen) in US & #MotoG (1st & 2nd Gen) in India. Look for the notification on your device!" Motorola informs its followers on Twitter.

Since the update will go out "in phases," users may not be able to download the update straight away but, as Technology Personalized assured, Moto G users should get their phones dressed in Lollipop within the next two days. One way to check the software's availability is by navigating to Settings > About Phone > Software update. Usually though, users of eligible devices will be prompted to install the update without going there.

Phandroid has reported that there were also soak tests back in December that took quite awhile. However, the update is all set and ready to take off. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update offers the Material Design where animation and colors are made more vibrant. There should also be a revamp on notification trays and multitasking UI, a fresher Motorola Assist, Smart Lock and a noticeable improvement in the battery department.

Meanwhile, Motorola has not detailed its plans to launch Lollipop in other regions of the world but it looks like Motorola is working hard to reach its Moto G users as soon as they can.
