Android 6.0 update news: LG G4 in the U.S. to receive Android Marshmallow soon?

 LG Newsroom

LG has stated that outside of Google-owned Nexus devices, the company's flagships will be one of the very firsts to adapt to the new Android Marshmallow platform. The South Korea-based company seems to be backing up this statement as it was reported recently that the global roll out for the Android 6.0 update will touch LG G4 in the U.S. soon.

According to Tech Times, LG G4 owners in the U.S. may look forward to the new Android 6.0 update to roll out to their devices before the year ends. While it is still unconfirmed as LG has yet to issue an official statement, LG G4 owners in major markets have already received their OTA updates for the new Google mobile OS version.

The South Korea tech giant made both soak tests and full version launches in Poland and its home country, South Korea. Just recently, it was reported that the Android Marshmallow rollout has also reached European shores.

In a report by Gadgets360, LG G4 owners in Germany, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, and Spain have apparently already received OTA notifications for an Android 6.0 update. In addition to major European mainland countries, it was also reported that some users in the United Kingdom have supposedly gotten the update notifications for Android M as well.

Meanwhile, LG G4 owners in the U.S. may expect the Android M update to come in at least three ways, as what is currently the case for the European rollout. Aside from an official automatic OTA update from LG, users may also manually check out the Software Update tab in the Settings of the G4 to check if an update is available. In addition, the device can also be updated to Android 6.0 via LG Bridge, the desktop software companion app for LG devices.
