Although it has already been at least a month since Google released its newest platform, many Android-run devices still have yet to be updated to the latest Android Marshmallow version.

Meanwhile, as the LG G4 received its Android Marshmallow update for Poland and South Korea, LG has also said it has already started preparing for the new Android version for the rest of the LG lineups.

According to NeuroGadget, the new Marshmallow OS is about to be released for some of the LG products under the G- lineup. However, this will not be a global rollout as only subscribers with LG devices under AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon will get the update.

In the post, it is listed that the devices from the four major carriers that will get the Android 6.0 treatment include the G2, G3, and the G Flex 2. These devices are listed together with the current G4 iteration.

Meanwhile, VCPost reported that the original schedule for the LG G4 was for the global release of the update in North America and Europe to immediately follow the Poland and South Korea roll-outs. The target window for the release would have been by the end of the year. However, there were some difficulties encountered in the earlier updates for the G4, and so the global release was delayed.

Apparently, further updates for the G4 for global owners will occur in the first quarter of 2016 instead.

Android Marshmallow is the newest platform version for Google's mobile OS. However, unlike the iOS (the update for comes only from Apple), the platform upgrade depends on tech manufacturers and mobile carriers alike. The companies only use Google's official stock ROM as the baseline for their own version of the new Android update, and developing these kernels take time, hence the delay in the roll out.
