The Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout continues and this time, it seems that Sony's Xperia lines over in Japan could be up for an update likely to happen in January 2016.

Sony Xperia's Z4 and Z5 have been singled out as the two devices likely to get the Android 6.0 M push, with both listed on the Wi-Fi certification database.

Such was discovered by a Japanese website via the Xperia blog, revealing that the Android 6.0 M will be landing on the Xperia Z5. The device is currently sold via NTT DOCOMO, SoftBank and au.

The document spotted called for the Sony Xperia Z5 premium and will include other versions under NTT DOCOMO such as the Xperia Z4.

With that said, Android 6.0 M could hit the devices anytime soon, although the safest bet is January 2016. This should be in line with previous rumors that Sony's line of devices are due for that much awaited update. For the benefit of those who missed it, here are other devices set for an Android 6.0 M boost (via the Android Authority):

• Xperia Z5 Compact
• Xperia Z4 Tablet
• Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
• Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet
• Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua, and Xperia C4

Android 6.0 M brings a lot of new features topped by the much bragged about improvements on a mobile phone's battery. The Doze App has been singled out as the reason plus other interesting perks like better management of permissions for apps, Google Now on Tap, and security update.

It would be best to check the device's phone settings if the update is already available. Just in case, make sure the device is charged by at least 50% and has a reliable WiFi connection for proper downloading of the patch.
