Although Google has already launched its official version of the new Android platform, many fans are still waiting for the update to come to their phones. Users of Motorola devices are among the legions of fans waiting for the new 6.0 Marshmallow update.

However, since the new platform is a recent release, tech specs will come into play, and devices would have to meet the requirements for the Android 6.0 platform in order to get the update. Motorola, being a maker of a wide range of Android lineups, has released a list of its devices that are compatible with, and expected to receive, the new update.

Being the most recent flagship releases, the 2015 editions of the Moto X are shoo-ins for the new Android 6.0 update. In addition, the third-gen Moto G (2015) is also set to receive the new platform. As with previous releases, OTA notifications will be sent to owners of devices such as the Droid Turbo, last year's Moto MAXX and Moto Turbo, as well as the Nexus 6. In addition, the 2014 variant of the Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE (second-gen) are also set to receive an update.

Meanwhile, the Android 6.0 update for 2014 editions of the Moto X will vary depending on location. Set to receive the new platform is the 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the U.S., as well as the Moto X (2014) for Latin America, Europe, and some parts of Asia.

However, Motorola has yet to announce a rollout schedule for the new platform update as the company is still tweaking the manufacturer version of 6.0 Marshmallow. Somehow different from the stock Android 6.0 update by Google, Motorola's version has built up new improvements for Motorola owners, taking advantage of the new features such as mating the new platform to the Moto Enhancements already integrated into the Moto devices.
