Manny Pacquiao next fight news 2015: Amir Khan will use speed to frustrate Pacquiao

Amir Khan seems to be confident that he and Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao will be facing off in 2016. So confident that he believes he can beat Pacquiao using Mayweather's regimen — speed.

To recall, Mayweather made life difficult for the Filipino fighter by being always on the move. Dull as it may have been, the ploy was a key part in helping Mayweather hold off Pacquiao who is known to unload tons of punches when the opportunity pops up.

After being shunned yet again as a possible Mayweather opponent, Khan could be lined up as the leading contenders to face Pacquiao once the PacMan is given a clean bill of health.

Pacquiao is still recuperating from surgery performed on his right shoulder and the word is out that the earliest Pacquiao could return would be by the first quarter of 2016.

"To win a fight against someone like Pacquiao, the key is speed, movement and distance and that's how Mayweather beat him," he told Dubai 103.8.

The camps of both Khan and Pacquiao already had talks earlier this year and the belief is that the fight, once ironed out, may likely take place in Dubai.

Khan was ruled out as Mayweather's opponent for his continued criticism on the undefeated American boxer. As many know by now, Mayweather had opted to face Andre Berto instead at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sept. 12, 2015.

Mayweather will be gunning to duplicate the 49–0 feat of boxing great Rocky Marciano.

As far as shooting his mouth out is concerned, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum plans to take it on differently. Rather than make it as an excuse to fend off Khan, Arum is arranging to pit him and Pacquiao in the same ring.

Pacquiao and Khan are former sparring mates and both know each other well. On whether or not Khan's planned move to use his speed to defeat Pacquiao will succeed could be determined if plans push through next year.
