Amir Khan next fight rumors 2016: Briton needs to decide between Danny Garcia or Kell Brook

Amir Khan was named mandatory challenger for the World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight title, placing him on a collision course with Danny Garcia.

Garcia recently won the title from Robert Guerrero and the logic here is that Khan would be his next opponent. But the question now is on whether or not Khan would be interested in taking the risk.

Khan seems to be dilly-dallying as of report writing, still holding on to that belief that he belongs to the elite class of fighters which include Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Ironically, he came up short of fighting either fighter, and that led to the southpaw possibly facing Kell Brook instead.

Khan has regularly put Brook down, saying that he is not pay-per-view (PPV) material. But with not much options right now, Khan could be forced into fighting him next if negotiations materialize.

Boxing followers last heard of the Khan and Brook negotiations through that Twitter exchange about the split on the fight purse. Khan wanted 80–20 in his favor, which Brook's manager countered with 60–40 also on his behalf. Khan never replied to that which could indicate that he and his camp are discussing their options.

Against Garcia, Khan gets a chance to avenge his previous loss. But is Khan prepped and improved against the reigning WBC champion? Not many are convinced he is, as mentioned on Sky Sports.

Against Brook, Khan is assured of a big payday, but pride seems to be hindering him from agreeing to the fight.

Whomever he takes on first between the two will be critical. A loss to Garcia could lower his stock against Brook. A loss to the latter will also dampen his stock.

Either way, Khan needs to decide and get into the ring soon. The longer he waits, the more people are forgetting him as a boxer. And if that continues, he could soon be erased from that so-called elite list, which he believes he rightfully belongs to.
