Some tech manufacturers hope to make it into the global smartphone arena, particularly among the device users in the United States. Chinese firm ZTE is chief among the device makers hoping to enter the worldwide market more thoroughly. In this matter, the China-based conglomerate will be shipping out its flagship Nubia Z9 to the U.S. later this year.

Released in early 2015, the Nubia Z9 paves the way for a more interactive approach to user interface on smartphones. With ZTE's proprietary Frame Interactive Technology, the new Nubia Z9 can be controlled from the side of the screen, cutting the number of steps an app or software needs to be opened. For example, having FIT on the Z9 interface with the camera, users can easily turn on the camera app and instantly focus on an image by putting their fingers on the edges of the display.

The display is also one of the new features that ZTE has put into the Nubia Z9. With a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, the Z9's display appears to be borderless, with bezels so thin that they disappear at first glance.

Under the hood, the Z9 is run by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 4 GB of RAM for the Exclusive version, and 3 GB RAM for the Standard Z9. Both variants come with a 16 MP main shooter at the back and an 8 MP front camera, and run on Android Lollipop 5.0.2 right out of the box.

According to the announcement, recently seen plastered across Times Square in New York, the Nubia Z9 will arrive in the United States in the third quarter of the year, and will retail between $564 and $725.

Aside from ZTE, another China-based company, Huawei, is hoping to capture the American smartphone market by releasing its P8 Lite for just $249.99.
