Although the year is already drawing to a close, there is still a big event that hardcore fans and observers in the gaming industry are waiting for. This coming weekend, this year's PlayStation Experience will be held on Dec. 5 to Dec. 6 in San Francisco.

Although Sony PlayStation already came out with a list of participants and particular titles that would be highlighted in the event, fans are still expecting some surprises. The latest off the rumor mills suggest that game giant Bandai Namco will have a treat for fans – a new "Ace Combat" announcement.

According to Dual Shockers, eagle-eyed fans of the "Ace Combat" franchise have data-mined the latest update to the current title in the series, "Ace Combat Infinity," and found out that some of the files hint at an interesting piece of information – a new "Ace Combat" title, and the teaser about PlayStation Experience 2015.

It was mentioned that the files thanked fans for playing the current title, and mentioned that a new game, "Ace Combat 7," has been announced at the PlayStation Experience 2015, together with a showcase of a new trailer. To celebrate the announcement, a challenge in "Ace Combat Infinity" will be unlocked, with "Ace Combat 7" emblems as rewards.

It is unclear why the announcement was structured as if it already happened. For some fans, this might mean a future announcement. Since the files have been secreted away in the update, Bandai Namco might have thought of making the announcement public after the PlayStation Experience event.

Meanwhile, although the files have been data-mined in the official update for the current "Ace Combat" title, there are no confirmed details from publisher Bandai Namco. However, while the "Ace Combat" franchise has been absent on the list of possible games that would be showcased in the event, fans expect that some surprise titles, aside from "Ace Combat 7," will make their appearances, particularly big-name titles like "Final Fantasy XV" and "Kingdom Hearts 3."
