2016 Honda Civic specs: Styled and armed with renewed power

Honda is pinning a lot on the 10th generation 2016 Honda Civic after a not so impressive debut of its predecessor.

Except for the Si model, the ninth generation Honda Civic rated poorly in terms of the interior and driving mechanics, causing it to eventually fall off the ranks of recommended car buys.

With all that in the past, Honda hopes that the 2016 Honda Civic version will do much better. The 10th generation vehicle will offer improved styling as well as vastly improved base engines that should rack in a lot of power as well.

It is believed that the Civic will be coming in different forms, although only the sedan version has so far been brought out in the open. Spicing up things as well is that the Civic Type R will, for the first time, be offered in North America.

Based on first glance on images of the 2016 Honda Civic, the upcoming vehicle does offer a sporty type look. Although some may have reservations on that claim, the thing is the overall appearance is a whole lot better than its predecessor, which reminds one a bit of the 2012–13 Honda Accord Crosstour.

Inside, Honda has done away with the tiered dashboard and made it a whole lot simpler. The interior offers a clean look paired with some infotainment that should give consumer a pretty feel of simplicity and technology in the plainest of designs.

Under the hood, there will be two models — a 1.5-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine and a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine — made for the people looking at more power on the drive. For those who are looking for more speed, the turbo engine is also available but for the CVT model. All configurations will exceed 40 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway.

Pricing for the 2016 Honda Civic base model will start at $18,490 for the manual transmission. The price will be a bit higher for the automatic transmission at $19,290 and above.

The mystery of the Wise Men
The mystery of the Wise Men

The carol assures us that “We three kings of Orient are…” and tells us they were “following yonder star”. Can we be sure there were three of them? Were they kings? Where in the Orient were they from?
