A 12-year-old boy who has been waiting four years to be adopted had nothing but good things to say about God when he sat down for a TV interview recently.

Jonah, whose last name was not disclosed by the WFAA news network, could be forgiven for being bitter given the difficulties he's faced at such a young age.

And he admits that life has had its challenges. In spite of this, though, he spoke about the gratitude he feels toward God for bringing him through all of that and even being there in the little things, like waking him up each day.

"He's brought me through many, many things. As far as abuse before I came into CPS [child protective services], he's brought me through a lot. Just a lot overall," he said.

"Waking me up this morning, you know what I mean? Starting me on my way. I'm in my right mind. I know who I am and I'm proud of being the person who I am."

Speaking further about his faith during the "Wednesday's Child" segment on WFAA, Jonah said that he tries to follow the Golden Rule.

"I have a desire to have knowledge and wisdom. The golden rule is to treat somebody the way you want to be treated, and that's what I do or at least what I try to do the most," he said.

With such a strong faith for such a young man, it's no surprise that when it comes to his wait for his forever family, he's trusting God with that too.

He's been in the care system for four years now, but he's believing that God will eventually put him together with the right family.

"[The] reason why I want to be adopted is because I know there's a family out there that fits me in the best possible way that they can," he said.
