The Marvel Cinematic Universe has undoubtedly been busy. Recently, Netflix has released "The Punisher," which puts another notch under Marvel's belt for the streaming giant. At this point, numerous people have undoubtedly finished the first season, and in its final moments, many have picked up on the possible plot for the upcoming second season which will revolve around the villain, Jigsaw.

In a report by Comic Book, fans of the comics may have taken the early hints that Billy Russo, played by Ben Barnes, would turn into one of The Punisher's greatest rivals, Jigsaw. During the final moments of the season finale, Frank Castle, played by Jon Bernthal, repeatedly slammed Billy's face on a mirror. This singular event could be summed up as the origin story of Jigsaw himself, who is a villain with a terribly disfigured face.

According to Barnes, the scene was "exhilarating" to shoot, albeit uncomfortable since the production occurred during winter. At this point, Barnes is still not allowed to officially reveal that season 2 will have fans see the exploits of Jigsaw, but it is already very clear that it is something that everyone can expect. In a report by Den of Geek, the Netflix show ended without leaving cliff hangers unlike what most binge-worthy shows do.

The first season of "The Punisher" ended with Frank Castle successfully avenging his family, and is looking to start a new and peaceful way of life under the name Pete Castiglione. However, given that Billy is still alive, how long will that last?

As reported by CBR, the series depicts that Billy Russo served in the military alongside Frank during the war in Afghanistan.

However, the story in the classic comic books was very different, wherein Frank and Billy were not even friends to begin with. In the comics, Billy Russo was an infamous hit man who went by the moniker "The Beaut," due to his devilish good looks. However, he got into an altercation with Frank and got pushed off of a window, which left his face terribly scarred.
