'The Sims Mobile' vs 'Sims FreePlay' comparison: More Sims customization options for 'The Sims Mobile'

EA is further expanding its hit life simulation game series "The Sims." A new mobile version of the popular franchise, called "The Sims Mobile," will soon be making its way to markets worldwide. How different is this upcoming mobile game from EA's "The Sims FreePlay?"

"The Sims Mobile" reprotedly to have more customization options EA

The game studio recently made the announcement, revealing it will be launching a new mobile game, one reminiscent of the original PC game that debuted 17 years ago. Unlike "The Sims FreePlay," the upcoming title will have more customization options for their Sims. Players will be able to create unique individuals with different looks, personalities, and traits. To note, "The Sims FreePlay" only allows players to customize Sims' looks. "The Sims Mobile" also allows gamers to tweak their Sims' home to their hearts content, just like in "Sims FreePlay."

More importantly, one feature that sets the upcoming title apart from FreePlay is the multiplayer option. In the game, players can interact online. They can also get their Sims to build relationships with another player's Sims.

"Shape your Sims' families over multiple generations," EA teases. "When your Sims accomplish their career goals and retire, you'll be rewarded with Heirlooms that unlock hobbies and careers for future generations, allowing new Sims to tell deeper stories."

It remains unclear if "The Sims Mobile" gameplay will rely heavily on completing quests and events just like in FreePlay.

"The Sims Mobile" will be available on Android and iOS devices. According to reports, the game has launched in Brazil. In the weeks to come, more markets will be able to enjoy "The Sims Mobile."

EA has yet to reveal the launch date of "The Sims Mobile." "The Sims FreePlay," on the other hand, is currently available. The title made its debut on iOS, Android, BlackBerry 10, and Windows Phone 8 sometime between 2011 and 2013.

More updates should arrive soon.
