'Super Smash Bros.' error kills off the game and Wii U

A hitch that messes with the Nintendo Wii U is starting to plague "Super Smash Bros." players. The error code 160-0103 is doing major damage to the game console and the game itself by making them unusable.

The error message reads, "There is a problem with the system memory. For help, make a note of the error code and visit support.nintendo.com."

However, while the issue has come to light just recently, Nintendo Life reminded its readers that the problems are not very rife in the Nintendo community. Not all players were pestered by the setback. The site also added that these very issues existed prior to the advent of "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U, with Cinema Blend reporting that the Wii U launch seems to have prompted it.

Nevertheless, Nintendo Life said that the error appears haphazardly, while pointing out that players who ran into the error see it more after they complete the For Glory mode of the game. IDigital Times and Nintendo Life are one in saying that the error is triggered with a problem with the system memory and the game's update data.

Video game outlets have also reported an equally alarming bug. It is reported that in the first appearance of 160-0103, players were advised to format their devices. So when players access the Data Management, the error code 160-1710 in turn pops up. The error is strong enough to brick or wipe the data from the gamers' systems, as reported by Cinema Blend.

The last thing to do during the first light of this issue is doing anything else to make it worse. This means that formatting the device is something players should stay away from. This will bring about more trouble. Those who did had to send their Wii consoles to Nintendo to have them fixed. IDigital Times advises players who haven't encountered the error to turn off their system's Wi-Fi or Internet connection to stop the game from updating automatically. For those who were not able to stop the update, the site warns them not to play "Super Smash Bros." at the moment to prevent future problems from unfolding. Besides, Nintendo seems to be aware of the problem and players should only remain still until it comes up with a fix to patch it all up.
