'Sense8' season 2 to premiere in June 2016?

Back in August, "Sense8" was renewed for its second season, and fans of the hit Netflix series were happy to know that more episodes will be coming to the streaming service sometime next year.

While there has been very little news about the series since its renewal, viewers are wondering when season 2 will start streaming. According to Netflixlife.com, most Netflix originals will have new seasons released around the time the first season premiered.

Since "Sense8" season 1 was released on June 5, 2015, season 2 would likely be available for streaming on June 3, 2016. This could be possible if "Sense8" follows the same trend as most Netflix originals, but it would also depend on whether executive producers J. Michael Straczynski, Lana Wachowski and Andy Wachowski would finish production for season 2 in time for a June 2016 premiere.

For now, it is unclear whether filming for season 2 has begun, but a Twitter post from series star Brian J. Smith appears to hint that production might take place soon. On Thursday, Oct. 29, Smith tweeted, "I bought some @sense8 season 2 luggage today. Perhaps some additional climates to pack for? Hmmmm."

Last month, the actor also took to the micro blogging site to answer a fan's question as to why fans would have to wait until 2016 for a new season. Smith wrote, "From what I've heard so far, it's going to be more than worth the wait. It's a unique show to write/prep."

Indeed, "Sense8" is one of the most complex series to film in recent times as production takes place in different parts of the world. Last year, filming took place in Nairobi, Seoul, San Francisco, Mumbai, London, Berlin, Mexico, and Chicago as fans got to know the eight characters who are mentally and emotionally connected with each other. A group like this is referred to on the show as a cluster, and in an interview with AssignmentX, Straczynski said that there will be more clusters in season 2, which could mean new locations where filming will take place.

Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for season 2 of "Sense8."
