It looks like the two-week hiatus of "One Piece" will bring something action-packed for the manga readers as Luffy is rumored to develop a new technique. "One Piece" chapter 887 is expected to continue the Straw Hat pirates' adventure in the Cake island, as Big Mom and her henchmen try to seize the group. This time around, the Straw Hat leader will find an opportunity to unlock a new ability.

For the previous chapters of "One Piece," Luffy has been involved in huge battles against Big Mom's strongest soldiers. The recent episode featured Luffy finally getting the upper hand against Katakuri, one of Big Mom's Sweet lieutenants. Unfortunately, the pirate has depleted his Haki powers in the process, and with the Big Mom pirates trying to catch him, Luffy can only run away until his Haki regenerates.

In "One Piece" chapter 887, it is speculated that Luffy will be able to recover completely from his previous fight with Katakuri. With his stamina now full, he can access his Haki powers once more, although this is expected to happen by the end of the chapter. However, there will be something different when Luffy regains his Haki, as there might be some sort of awakening for a new ability in the process.

There have been hints that Luffy will soon learn a new Haki technique, even before his intense fight against the Big Mom pirates. He even promised at one point to learn how to look into future events via Observation Haki. Although, if Luffy will be able to unlock a new Haki, it will take more time before he can fully master the technique. Of course, everything is still up in the air regarding Luffy awakening his new power, and the Observation Haki is just one of the possible outcomes.

Meanwhile, Inquisitr reported that Luffy will be serious in his quest to unlock a new technique. There are rumors that the pirate will not use Katakuri's weakness in "Once Piece" chapter 887, which he found out recently in the previous chapter. Instead of turning the tide to his favor, Luffy will wait for Katakuri to recover to his full power. This is because awakening a new technique will only happen when a person faces a formidable opponent. If Luffy fights Katakuri at his lowest point, he is not likely to achieve a new Haki.

"One Piece" chapter 887 is expected to be released sometime next week.
