USA Network's hit cyberpunk-thriller drama series "Mr. Robot" season 1 is drawing to a close and fans continue to speculate on what will happen to Elliot (Rami Malek), his dysfunctional family, and the battle between Evil Corp and fsociety.

In the sneak peak released for the finale, the conflict between the two groups further escalates. The hacker unit is seen warning the company of "a death knell" when the bell tolls for the opening of the stock market. Members are also shown taking to the streets to help fuel the protest while chaos spread throughout the city.

Elliot will continue having hallucinations about his father, Mr. Robot (Christian Slater). It appears that there is no getting away from the young hacker's delusions that he will still have difficulty identifying which is reality and which is not.

Meanwhile, a persistent rumor that the finale episode will disclose information regarding Elliot's mother is making the rounds online. Fans know nothing about her identity, let alone her name. What they do know is that she was abusive and that she was the one who took care of Elliot when his father "died."

Esquire posits that after the revelations about Mr. Robot, the show would now dwell on the rest of the family history. Will the avid followers finally know what happened to the last of Elliot's mysterious family? And what about Mr. Robot and Darlene (Carly Chaikin)? Will there still be more revelations about them before the season ends?

Meanwhile, the scheduled airing of the finale of the hit series was postponed after the Virginia shooting incident. Journalists from WDBJ-TV were shot and killed during a live report for the station's morning program. After fleeing the scene, the culprit posted the ambush on social media then committed suicide. He was reportedly a former co-worker of the pair.

Variety reports that USA Network's decision was based on the fact that the episode contains "a graphic scene similar in nature to the tragic events" in the said state.

"Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight's episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time," the network said in a statement.

"Mr. Robot" season 1 finale will air on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 10 p.m. EST on USA Network.
