Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date, specs and features rumors: debut at IFA?

 Microsoft Store

Microsoft reportedly has something big in store for this year's IFA event, as the company may be prepping the Surface Pro 4 for its close-up.

At this point, the only thing guaranteed is that Microsoft will be showing up at the event; but it is widely believed that they will be unveiling at least a few products at the September event, according to Geek Snack.

The Surface Pro 4 was rumored earlier this year to come out by spring, but that ultimately fell through. This time around, many more are confident that Microsoft is indeed ready to showcase their Surface Pro 4; although there are also other reports suggesting that it could be unveiled a month later, as reported by the International Business Times.

Even though there are still differing reports regarding the exact release date, there at least seems to be a timeframe that has been agreed upon, making it more useful now to learn about what the Surface Pro 4 can offer to potential buyers.

One of the leading rumors regarding the specs of the Surface Pro 4 is that it will be featuring the newest Intel processor, also known as the Skylake line. The introduction of the new processor will reportedly help alleviate some of the overheating issues that the Surface Pro 3 suffered from in the past.

Unsurprisingly, if the Surface Pro 4 is indeed announced soon, then people can expect it to come equipped with the Windows 10 operating system (OS), although with a little bonus. Since there are distinct versions of the Windows 10 OS for desktop and tablet units, users can reportedly shift between the two according to how they are currently using the device itself.

The Surface Pro 4 also reportedly sports a new kind of design that allows it to be lighter and thinner than its predecessors.

There appears to be a lot to look forward to with the Surface Pro 4, making this year's IFA event worth monitoring for people eyeing this particular Microsoft product.
