'Legend of Zelda' Wii U release date news: Nintendo shares new artwork and gameplay with fans

The E3 2016 is closely approaching, and Nintendo is bringing their heavy guns early this year, one week before everybody else. This apparently is their way of building up hype for E3. They already seem to have a lot of great titles lined up for unveiling next week.

Destructoid mentions that at the head of this year's reveal is the new "Legend of Zelda" game for the Wii U and NX platforms. They have given details on their streaming schedule, starting at 9 a.m. Pacific time on June 14, Tuesday. Fans can also view Nintendo's various shows on their website.

Also, it seems like they already have a "Legend of Zelda" Twitter campaign at the ready for players to receive in-app gifts from Nintendo's Mitomo, according to Game Zone. They revealed a promo on their official Twitter page, and said that if it received 10,000 re-tweets, they will release "Link's new hair wig" as an add-on to all Mitomo users on June 14. Everyone who hasn't signed on to Nintendo's various promotions are now also encouraged to do so, since they are providing various other gifts and add-ons available for players online by E3's kick-off.

GameRant shares Nintendo's new promotional artwork for "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U, which depicts Link wearing blue instead of his usual green, and riding what seems to be Epona. Fans will most likely learn more about this at the E3, where they are said to be unveiling streamed gameplay, and possibly a chance for players to try out the game before everyone else. Epic Stream reports that Nintendo will also provide new discounts on the Nintendo eShop this June 14, along with a "special bonus" for those who will take advantage of the discounts. There is also a special discount for MyNintendo and Nintendo eShop users who have liked their account to their network ID.

More details will be made available once E3 kicks off next week, on June 14, Tuesday.
