Huawei P8 specs, price news: An aspiring iPhone 6 copycat?

Huawei has unleashed another flagship phone in the market, something touted to carry some similarities to the iPhone 6 from Apple.

At first glance, the outer design seems to make it look like that the Huawei P8 is a replica of the famed iPhone 6. Sans the ports and buttons and its more squarer make, a first look at the phone would make you believe that it is another iPhone clone.

Aside from the fact that it runs on Android rather than Apple's patented OS, the Huawei P8 offers a lot of features (probably better) if you think about the iPhone.

It boasts of a 5.2-inch display (1920x1080) and runs on a (2.5/1.5 GHz) octa-core processor supported by 3GB of RAM. It offers users 16G of internal storage which is expandable by way of the microSD card and banks on a 2,680 mAh batter for its power needs. It also comes with a 13MP main camera while an 8MP front-facing camera is also present.

As far as user interface is concerned, don't be surprised to find it similar to how iPhone 6 users do it. In fact, folks who have had a chance to try out Xiaomi's handsets should not be surprised to find such interfaces with only the OS (Android) perhaps the striking difference if you want to go in detail of what makes the P8 differs from the iPhone interface.

The difference will of course boil down to the price of the Huawei P8, probably the selling point which makes it appealing. Available in more than 30 countries, a contract-free price of the Huawei P8 reportedly starts at $531.

Among the countries where the Huawei P8 is already available include Columbia, Germany, Spain, South Africa, and UAE. With regards to the P8's availability in the United States is still unknown at this point.

Another point worth considering is on whether the stocks would be enough to last. Everyone knows the availability issues that Xiaomi handsets had so with another iPhone alternative in the midst, could Huawei be encountering similar issues? Hopefully not.
