Actress Ellen Pompeo confirmed that her character Meredith will stay in town and will remain in GSMH.

In an interview for E! News, Ellen was asked what is in store for the next season of "Grey's Anatomy".

"We can't move to DC because Meredith would find out her mother is alive and she would be pissed!" she answered.

The eleventh season of "Grey's Anatomy" will also focus on the relationship between Margaret "Maggie" Pierce and Meredith. Last season, it was revealed that Maggie is Mer's half-sister as she was Ellis Grey's daughter from her affair with Richard.

The actress also hinted that there will be a lot of flashbacks next season that goes back as far as before the first season started.

"We are doing a lot of flashback stuff. Very challenging....A lot of people say how can you stay on a show 11 years. After 11 seasons you have to stay so alive and present. You can't disappoint the audience. You have to bring it," she added.

Meanwhile, ABC released a spoiler photo of the show's first episode. The premiere episode is entitled, "I Must Have Lost It On The Wind."

According to the official synopsis of the episode 1, Meredith will move forward although her marriage is on the rocks. Reports claim that Derek and Mer's marriage will be on the verge of divorce. Meredith somehow feels like she has been cast aside and reportedly wants to break up with her husband. However, she will not give up on him easily, but their relationship will eventually end. All signs point to a possibility of divorce although nothing is concrete yet.

On the other hand, Bailey will fight Alex for a spot on the board. This means that Alex will clash with Bailey because of the post. It was reported that Alex will makes sure that Bailey will have to put up a fight for the said position.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 11 will be back on air on Sept. 25 on ABC.
