The 56th annual Grammy awards will be taking place on January 26, 2014.

The 2014 Grammy Awards will take place in less than a week.

The 56th annual Grammy Awards will air live from the STAPLES center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014 at 8pm ET on CBS.

LL Cool J will be returning for his third consecutive year as host of the award ceremony.

Music's biggest night will include a lineup of performances from the biggest names in music today.

UPDATE: The latest performers to be added are Jay-Z and Beyonce, who will be performing together, Madonna, Miranda Lambert and Billie Joe Armstrong.

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will receive the 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award as members of the legendary band Beatles.

A special performance is in place for Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles with four-time Grammy winner Carole King.

Beyonce has been rumored to be a surprise guest performer at the show. If this is true, it would be her first big TV performance since she quietly launched her new "visual album" on iTunes in December 2013.

The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards are produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich is executive producer, Louis J. Horvitz is director, and David Wild and Ehrlich are the writers.
