GoPro remains mum about the release of their next-generation high-definition extreme action camcorder, which is expected to be called the GoPro Hero 5. But several speculations about the camera's release date continuously circulate among various news sites. 

BreatheCast recently refuted the earlier rumors claiming the alleged GoPro Hero 5 will come out sometime in October. According to the new report, the San Mateo, California-based video camera manufacturer will push back the release date of the device to 2016. This will reportedly allow the company to add several updates and fine-tune the new features of the device. 

Previous rumors claimed the GoPro Hero 5 will support an 8K video recording in full HD, which means that it will double the resolution of its predecessor, the GoPro Hero 4 Black that has a 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution. It was also speculated to come with a 4K resolution video with 1080p resolution at 60 fps, 720p at 100 fps, and 1440p at 30 fps. 

Other reports claim that the device will be smaller and lighter than the GoPro Hero 4, which weighs 3.1 oz. Moreover, there are speculations that the GoPro Hero 5 will be waterproof up to 60 meters deep. 

But while the GoPro Hero 5 has yet to be announced, the company began selling the GoPro Hero+LCD, which has the capability to record videos at 1080p at 60 fps and capture photos using its 8 MP camera. It also comes with instant-camera editing, HiLight Tagging and built-in video editing features.
