She may not have won the golden Mirror Ball Trophy on "Dancing With the Stars," but it looks like Nastia Liukin couldn't be happier as she has just gotten engaged to her boyfriend Matt Lombardi.

The Olympic gymnast announced the news on Twitter on Monday, June 1, and shared a photo of her sparkly diamond ring.

"So this just happened…@matt-lombardi," she wrote alongside a photo of her left hand with her new fiancé in the distance, his arms outstretched as he smiled for the camera.

The 25-year old recently spoke to E! News about the proposal, saying that he proposed in Boston and that he designed the ring himself.

"He told me we were going to celebrate together and to my surprise, my parents, best friend and his family and best friend were waiting there to celebrate with us. We are both so excited for our future together," she told the website.

The Olympic gold medalist who partnered with pro dancer Derek Hough on the last season of the hit ABC show revealed to E! News last month that she and Lombardi have a long distance relationship.

"He lives in Boston and he comes out to L.A. ever few weeks when he can," she said.

Liukin is certainly a very busy lady as she never stopped to rest on her laurels since winning five gold medals in the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and was crowned Olympic All-Around Gymnast. Aside from her recent stint on "DWTS," she currently works as a sports commentator and is majoring in Sports Management at New York University. Meanwhile, Lombardi is the founder of Venture Up, a team training platform for athletes and coaches.

Although the newly engaged couple certainly have their time occupied by their respective endeavors, Liukin told E! News that she remembers what her father told her when she was 15 that when someone is important to her, she'll make time for that person no matter what it takes.

"Even before I met him I was like, 'There's absolutely no way, I have no time to date!' But when you find someone you love, you make time for them," said Liukin.
