'Captain America 3' latest news: Stan Lee done filming cameo; Robert Downey Jr., Spider-Man role contenders arrive on set

 Marvel Studios

Early on in the production of the highly-anticipated Marvel superhero film "Captain America: Civil War," there were already so much work done, one of which is the customary cameo of comic book top dog Stan Lee, which he himself confirmed.

"I just finished my cameo in the new Captain America movie the day before yesterday in Atlanta," Lee revealed during the Dallas Comic Con. "They should stop calling them cameos and start calling them supporting roles."

However, he gave no further details as to what sort of scene he was in this time. In "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Lee was one of the Cap's war veteran mates who partied a little too much during a shindig organized and graced by Earth's mightiest heroes.

Meanwhile, Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., has flown to Atlanta to shoot his scenes for "Captain America: Civil War." His role in the film is the reason the movie earned its subtitle.

"We work weekends for your viewing pleasure," the actor captioned a photo of himself on Instagram.

Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye, was also in Atlanta shooting his parts in the movie. In one photo, the actor has revealed the logo for the movie plastered on his chair. Forbes believes that the marked emphasis on words "Civil War" is saying something.

On the other hand, it was on the set of "Captain America: Civil War" in Atlanta that Marvel screen-tested six teenage actors for the role of Spider-Man, who will be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the aforementioned movie. Among the contenders battling it out for the red and blue costume are Asa Butterfield ("Ender's Game"), Tom Holland ("The Impossible"), Matthew Lintz (upcoming adventure sci-fi movie "Pixels"), Judah Lewis (upcoming rom-com drama "Demolition"), Charlie Rowe ("Red Band Society"), and Charlie Plummer ("Boardwalk Empire").

"Captain America: Civil War" will be out May 6, 2016.
