Naruto fans have been patient with the follow-up series and it seems their patience has finally paid off, as Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is getting better with each episode.

It's not been as fast in moving along the plot as Naruto, which left fans feeling a little shortchanged and underwhelmed.

But the pace has picked up in the last few episodes and there have been some interesting developments with the Chunin Exams arc getting under way - and then the exams being disrupted, which fans found out last time was caused by members of the Otsutsuki Clan.

There was the turn of events with Boruto, who experienced great shame when his secret of using the Scientific Ninja Tools in the Chunin Exams was exposed.

There was the surprising team-up of Naruto and Sasuke, who used to be at odds with each other. They partnered up to take on Momoshiki Otsutsuki.

And there was an emotional flashback scene showing Naruto holding Boruto as a newborn baby as more scenes then show Boruto growing up.

And fans have been wondering whether Naruto is dead after the emotional climax of Episode 62.

Episode 63 skipped a week and is back next week instead, according to Otakukart, which also revealed that the much awaited episode would show Sasuke and the Kage trying to rescue Naruto from one of the Otsutsuki dimensions and Boruto gets a candid talk from Sasuke.

So while the series got off to a slow start, there's lots to look forward to in the next episode and from the sounds of the comments in the Reddit thread, they are really appreciating the quality of the animation and the story arc.

One Reddit user, Stefanopro said: 'It was so worth it, all that slow build up till now. The anime's version of the last episode and this episode is SO much better than the film's one. I can only wait for the fight that's to come!!!! Such a well done episode.'
