Church of England bishops took the knee on Tuesday to mark two weeks since the death of George Floyd.
The Bishop of Coventry, the Rt Rev Dr Christopher Cocksworth, and the Bishop of Warwick, the Rt Rev John Stroyan, knelt down in front of the Charred Cross in the ruins of Coventry Cathedral in tribute to the unarmed black man who died at the hands of Minneapolis police officers last month.
His death has sparked anti-racism protests around the world, including in the UK, where a number of statues of former slave traders have been felled in the last few days.
The two bishops took the knee for 8 minutes and 46 seconds - the length of time a US police officer knelt on George Floyd's neck, and recited the Coventry Litany of Reconciliation.
