Hajime Isayama's bestselling post-apocalyptic manga series "Attack on Titan" is ready to take over the small screen with a live-action TV series already in the works. The new show, set to air on Docomo's streaming video service dTV in August, will link the two upcoming live-action movies of the series.

The new project will not be all about Titans snacking and chewing on people. The still-untitled "Attack on Titan"-inspired three-part miniseries will follow the life of Zoe Hanji and all other soldiers from the Survey Corps and how they use their break from fighting heinous flesh-eating giants.

The cast for the television show in development will be pulled out from the "Attack on Titan" live-action movies premiering in July and August. Zoe Hanji will be played by Satomi Ishihara. Shinji Higuchi, the director of the two live-action films, will also be the one to helm the series.

Other cast members to reprise their roles from the "Attack on Titan" films include Nanami Sakuraba as Sasha, Shu Watanabe as Fukushi, Rina Takeda as Lil, and Ayame Misaki as Hiana. There will also be new characters, one of which will be played by Yuta Hiraoka.

It seems that fans of "Attack on Titan" never run out of goodies to get a load of. While waiting for the second season of the anime series that is scheduled to be released next year, there is plenty of material to get busy with.

The second compilation film titled "Attack on Titan Part II: Wings of Freedom" will debut on June 27 this year. Kodansha Comics is also working to release Isayama's original manga in North America as well as three of the four spin-offs of the series. The publishing company will also bring "Attack on Titan Guidebooks Inside & Outside" to the shelves while Vertical will be publishing "Attack on Titan: Before the Fall" light novel series.
