10 scriptures on God as our provider

As beings with needs, we often are quick to search for the things that our bodies and souls need. It's both our weakness and our privilege to have been created with so many needs.

We need food, shelter, protection, clothes, jobs, money, rest, enjoyment, relationships, peace, freedom, significance, identity, knowledge, and a whole list of other things. And searching for all these needs one by one can be a very daunting task. Before we know it, we have very little time left to meet the needs of others around us.

As Christians, we are taught not to focus on our needs only but on the needs of others as well. But with all our personal needs just screaming for attention, how can we even find the time to meet the needs of others?

The answer is simple -- boil down all your needs to one, and seek that one need. That need is God in our lives. When we have God in our lives, He will take care of all our needs because He is our provider. He is the source of life and He sustains it.

Here are 10 scriptures that can motivate you today to look to God as your provider.

Deuteronomy 2:7. "For the LORD your God has blessed you in all that you have done; He has known your wanderings through this great wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have not lacked a thing."

1 Samuel 2:8. "He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap To make them sit with nobles, And inherit a seat of honor; For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, And He set the world on them."

1 Chronicles 29:12. "Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone."

Psalm 68:9. "You shed abroad a plentiful rain, O God; You confirmed Your inheritance when it was parched."

Psalm 147:8. "Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who provides rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains."

Matthew 6:26. "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?"

Acts 14:17. "And yet He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness."

Philippians 4:19. "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

2 Peter 1:3. "Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence."

Matthew 6:31-33. "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
