Should fans worry about George R.R. Martin's plans to attend a wedding?

The best-selling author is known for penning the highly controversial wedding scenes in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" saga, which were later on adapted into HBO's "Game of Thrones" series. Fans of both the books and the TV series know that weddings in the fictional world of Westeros normally bring despair to the characters.

But more than that, fans are concerned that Martin's latest travel plans, which also include watching the Staten Island Yankees and Hudson Valley Renegades game, could further delay the release of ASOIF's sixth book titled "The Winds of Winter."

The highly anticipated installment in the book series is expected to answer the questions that were left hanging by the end of 2011's "A Dance of Dragons."

But the 66-year-old author's cryptic post on his Not a Blog Livejournal account seems to send mix signals to the readers.

"And while I will be travelling, my army on minions will be here at the old homestead, toiling in the paper mines," the author said.

Some fans believe that the "minions" that Martin was referring to in his post are those who are working in the publishing company that will release the book, while the term "paper mines" refers to the printers. This could mean that Martin managed to finish writing "The Winds of Winter" and the draft already found its way to the publishers for printing. If so, then the book just might be published before the year ends.

However, The Inquistr noted that Martin might be referring to his other book series called the "Wild Cards" which he reportedly hopes would be the last and final installment in the sci-fi comic book anthology.

Still, fans are hoping to finally hear an update regarding the release of "The Winds of Winter" before HBO airs "Game of Thrones" season 6 in summer 2016.
