The Mothers' Union in Ireland launched its new CD at their triennial conference in Termonfechin, Northern Ireland.

The aim of the CD is to promote the work of Mothers' Union in Ireland and overseas to members, potential members and supporters and is entitled "What do you think we do?"

Mrs Susan Cathcart, the All Ireland Marketing Co-ordinator, said in her introduction that when the marketing unit was looking for ways to step forward they decided to "go back to the basics of what Mothers' Union is about".

"The CD will provide an effective and consistent way of communicating the work of the Mothers' Union to different audiences," she said.

The CD looks at the work of Mothers' Union worldwide, including the areas of relief, literacy and development, and parenting and education.

It goes on to explain that there are now 385 branches throughout the 12 dioceses of the Church of Ireland who are involved in extensive parenting programmes, project work, street outreach, prison and hospital visits, support for women's' refuge, contact centres and providing practical help to accident and emergency units.

Mrs Cathcart added, "So what is going on at branch level? Members have mother and toddlers groups, tea parties and Holy Communion services for indoor members, quiet times, fun times and fellowship inevitably over a cup of tea."
