Tim Tebow shows how people can make a difference in the world even if they don't have fame, money or power

A lot of Christians suffer from self-doubt when it comes to carrying out God's mission and often cite various reasons why they cannot minister to others. Former NFL quarterback and now SEC analyst Tim Tebow says he understands this fear. Nevertheless, he is encouraging people to rise above themselves and just have faith in God.

Tebow spoke during a benefit held at the Mount Dora Christian Academy Children's Home last Saturday, telling the crowd how important it is to be "walking by faith," the Daily Commercial reports.

"You might think, 'How can I really make that much difference?'" he said. "I don't have that much money, I don't have that much fame, I don't have that much power."

But even though Christians lack all of those things, great things can still happen as long as they are working for God. "You give what you can and watch what God does with it," Tebow said. "You can be part of that team because you are qualified. You have a talent. You have a resource. The question is, 'What are you going to do with it?'"

Tebow also said the thrill he receives playing in the football field often "pales in comparison to being able to give hope to a single mother, being able to give love to an orphan" just like what Mount Dora Christian Academy does.

His non-profit organisation, the Tim Tebow Foundation, helps provide respite to children fighting terminal illnesses, financial aid to parents who want to open their homes for adoption, and prom-night events for special needs children.

"Everyone needs to do something greater than themselves, to do something for other people," he earlier told PEOPLE. "That's why we're here; that's why we're always looking for more ways that the Foundation can help others. I want to build a legacy that is greater than football."
