What would cars look like if they were designed by kids?
The Admiral insurance company thought they'd find out by asking children aged 5 and 7 to draw the car of their dreams, with some interesting results.
Their ideas included a car that flies, hovers using blue flame boosters and has heart-shape wheels.
The kids also liked the idea of outdoor speakers, a giant water pistol, and extendable legs so that the car could jump over other vehicles.
Their ideas for the interior were equally imaginative, with a disco ball, a sofa bed, and a sweet, chocolate, popcorn and ice cream dispenser.
The ultimate kids car has been turned into a design reality by an automative design student and the kids' drawings are being displayed online at: www.admiral.com/useful-link/kids-say-the-funniest-things.php
Managing Director of the car insurance specialist, Dave Halliday, said: "As grown-ups, we might spend a fair amount of time dreaming about the cars we’d buy if our budgets allowed, but we thought it would be fun to see the dream car a child's imagination would come up with.
"We had no doubt their drawings would be terrific and the children certainly didn't disappoint. The final design is pretty fanciful but it's still recognisable as a car and looks like it would be great fun to travel in."
