Starfield to Release New Album Beauty in the Broken

Popular Canadian Christian band Starfield announced the release of their sophomore studio album, Beauty in the Broken, slated to release May 16. The band additionally announced a new tour date on May 14 with legendary British rock band Delirious in New York City.

Produced by GMA Award winning Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bebo Norman, Caedmon’s Call, others) and GMA Award nominated Matt Bronleewe (Natalie Imbruglia, Jars Of Clay, Michael W. Smith, Rebecca St. James, others), Starfield’s new album Beauty in the Broken is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed, self-titled debut release in 2004.

Their current R&R hit radio single, “My Generation,” reveals a desire to offer something relevant to their listening audience.

"Our generation tends to use things as substitutes for God – material things, knowledge, relationships, sex – but all these things were created by God,” says Starfield’s frontman Tim Neufeld. “We try to take these broken pieces and substitute them for the Creator, but the created will never fulfill us.”

“These are the things our generation can’t come to grips with,” adds Tim’s brother and Starfield guitarist/vocalist Jon Neufeld. “The song ‘My Generation’ deals with that in a corporate sense, as an anthem that speaks for more than just ourselves, while the rest of the album begins to pose an answer.”

In playing over 200 dates a year, the band has gained a loyal fan base, and expects the same intensity of tour dates in 2006 in support the new release and will take part in Youth Specialties Conferences, Dare 2 Share events, select LifeWay camps, and more.
