'Star Wars Episode 7' plot: Unconfirmed rumors stacking up, Oscar Isaac doesn't like spoilers

When "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" was unveiled to the public, fans of the movie franchise couldn't help but seek every nook and cranny of the World Wide Web to get every bit of information they can about the movie. Unfortunately, Disney and Lucasfilm have been so successful in keeping the plot a secret that fans have resorted to making their own plot speculations.

While speculating the plot for "The Force Awakens" is something fun, one should not take these things seriously. As long as there's no official word from Disney and Lucasfilm, these claims hold no merit. On the other hand, the absence of an official confirmation doesn't necessarily mean that the speculations aren't tue.

One of the most popular plot rumors comes from a Reddit user named raptorman7. He said that John Boyega will be the new Luke Skywalker. According to raptoman7, Finn will be force-sensitive, but he doesn't know it yet.

The next plot rumor doing the rounds is the story's similarity to "A New Hope." Badass Digest predicted that despite the belief that R2 will visit Tattoine, it will actually be a hand falling from the sky.

And one of the best plot rumors of all is about the evil Kira. According to Making Star Wars, there will be a scene between Kira and a cyborg suspected to be Boyega. But, Kira might not have the purest intention for the cyborg.

"There is a rumor she is evil. I think the film might leave off with the revelation she has joined the figure's faction," Making Star Wars pointed out.

Fans may be going back and forth with these plot rumors and checking which one can actually be true. However, for cast member Oscar Isaac, he does mind reading about spoilers and is quite surprised at how fans come up with such plot speculations.

"I can't speak for the cast and crew, I can just speak for myself, but for me I thought, 'Don't you want to wait so you can get the real thing?'... But it creates excitement for it. I don't think these little leaks necessarily ruined watching the trailer. And also, the [plot theories] that get that formulated based on these things — they couldn't be more far off-base," he told Yahoo!

Whether these theories are true or not remains to be seen when "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
