The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may have just been released, but all eyes are on the Samsung Galaxy S8, which is expected to come with monster specs when it is released early next year.

The South Korea-based tech firm is expected to make its "edge" identity official with the flagship, which means that a version with a flat display will not be released.

As an upgrade, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly come with a dual-lens camera system. With the Apple iPhone 7 expected to boast the same feature, Samsung will make sure that the rival has competition.

That being said, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will boast the same dual-lens camera system. Since it will be released months after the iPhone 7, the company might tweak it up a little to top the one from Apple.

Forbes points out that Samsung will likely have the edge over its Cupertino-based rival if it restricts the dual-lens camera setup to the iPhone 7 while Samsung will make it available to everyone.

Additionally, one of the features to look forward to in the upcoming Samsung smartphone is the iris scanner. This one, however, is not new for Samsung.

The Galaxy Note 7 comes with the same feature as one of its biggest upgrades from the last-generation phablet. The iris scanner will likely be the next standard feature in a premium flagship next.

One big thing that the Samsung Galaxy S8 might have over its rivals is the 4K resolution display and Virtual Reality or VR support. The company is working on the said screen called Bio Blue display at the moment.

A prototype has already been shown early this year, and Samsung is on track with the development. Samsung Galaxy S8 will certainly stand out with such display on offer.

It is crucial to make the flagship right following the issue that came with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which is so huge that the units (even the ones that were sold) had to be returned to the company for repair.

Samsung is expected to lift the veil off the Galaxy S8 at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona scheduled Feb. 27 to March 2.
