'Reign' season 4 spoilers, premiere date: Suitors complicate the picture for Mary next season

More heartbreak and pain ahead for Mary in "Reign" season 4? Ben Mark Holzberg/The CW

"Reign" season 4 will not premiere this fall, much to the disappointment of fans who are used to getting new episodes of the series following Mary's (Adelaide Kane) colorful and complicated life.

However, due to some massive changes and show additions in The CW schedule, the show was moved to the midseason lineup along with the supernatural drama "The Originals."

The wait will be worth it, however, with "Reign" season 4 doubling up the drama and tribulations in the form of new people in Mary's life.

Fans watched how Mary lost her husband Francis (Toby Regbo) to illness, and now she is forced to deal with this devastating death. For this part of "Reign" season 4, there will be a couple of gentlemen to meet.

Will Kemp will debut on the show as dancer and "The Midnight Man" star Will Kemp as Lord Darnley, who, history dictates, will be Mary's new husband for a year.

The fleeting marriage was due to the fact that in real life, Lord Darnley was murdered a year into his marriage with Mary. That being said, Mary is in for more heartbreak.

Kemp will be featured in three "Reign" season 4 episodes, but has the option to appear on more. According to Bustle, it is unlikely that the short marriage won't be covered in just three episodes.

This is especially because in that whole year, Lord Darnley and Mary had a son who went on to become King James I. The site believes that "Reign" season 4 might also tackle the storyline as well.

Apart from Kemp, "Reign" season 4 will also introduce Mary's third husband Boswell. There's no information as to who will play the part.

There are other two characters to debut in the new season – Gabriel, Narcisse's (Craig Parker) rogue of a son and Henry, the brother of Charles (Spencer MacPherson).

"Reign" season 4 premieres sometime in January on The CW.
