"Ray Donovan" just wrapped up its action-packed third season last Sunday, leaving fans wanting for more from season 4.

The audiences were shocked at the revelations featured in the finale episode. One of such was Ray Donovan's (Liev Schreiber) past, when he experienced sexual abuse as a child with Father Danny O'Connor (Michael Cristofer) as his perpetrator.

With Ray opening up about his past, it will have a psychological impact in his life and season 4 is expected to have a more vulnerable character, as reported in TV Line.

It was also mentioned in a report from The Hollywood Reporter that Ray will choose to confront his past, which will ultimately lead to the development of a new relationship that will open up his life even more.

The Showtime Series also showed Terry (Eddie Marsan) badly wounded and fighting for his life after he got the hit instead of Mickey (Jon Voight).

Consequently, Ray was forced to seek comfort from Father Romero (Leland Orser) in what is considered an emotional scene.

In season 3 finale, Mickey was also seen bound for Las Vegas and according to showrunner David Hollander, Voight's character won't say goodbye to the series because there's so much planned out for him in season 4.

Fans can also expect more of the Minassians, since they are a serious affiliation with several dedicated members, according to Hollander, but the showrunner revealed that they won't be given that much focus for another season.

The relationship between Terry and Abby (Paula Malcomson), on the other hand, was also a big surprise of season 3.

They were seen kissing and flirting with each other, but the showrunner also gave away that their relationship won't be more than just a deep friendship.

In season 4, the flirting will reportedly stop, but the two will still remain friends.

Overall, season 4 is expected to feature fresh situations that will have an impact on each family member in the Donovans. Fans will also not miss out on Mickey.

As Hollander said, the team is excited about the upcoming new season as it will be full of emotion, yet it is expected to be a "big and loud and brassy" fun year.

"Ray Donovan" will return to Showtime sometime in 2016.
