Operation Mobilisation (OM) has been busy this summer taking the unconditional love of Christ to people in spiritual need across London.

Teams took to the streets as part of OM Turning Point, a programme which brings Christians from around the world to the multiethnic UK capital as a shortcut to people from the '10/40 window' - the geographical area of 10 degrees to 40 degrees north of the equator that contains the largest population of non-Christians.

According to OM's magazine Headlines, Turning Point teams distributed 11,930 tracts, Jesus films, Bibles, New Testaments and gospel DVDs in a variety of languages.

They also prayed with 11 people who wanted to make Jesus their Lord and Saviour.

Turning Point member Ann-Margaret from the USA said that her "most amazing experience" from the summer mission effort was meeting a man called Carl who had been given a tract by another member and was in a lot of distress because he was going to die soon owing to a liver ruined by alcohol, but was not sure of the way to heaven.

"This man would have been considered 'trash' to his community. Dirty, tattered, worn because of bad choices in life," she shared. "That day Carl received Jesus and I couldn't help but cry with him."

Team member Nuzhat was encouraged after a positive encounter a Saudi Arabian woman in Hyde Park. "At the end she invited me to her house for dinner and said, 'You have a different spirit in you.' I pray she sees Jesus in me," he said.

OM has also been working hard to share the love of Christ across other cities in England through its OM Lifehope ministry, formerly known as Operation Luke. The ministry focuses on partnership with local churches and reaching out to people from all nations in a post-Christian, multi-cultural Britain.
