MacBook Air 2016 continues to be the subject of rumors and speculations, which have become even more interesting at this point.

According to several reports, MacBook Air is said to come in two variants, an 11-inch and 13-inch models. But other reports mentioned that Apple will no longer continue producing 11-inch models and will focus more on delivering 13-inch and 15-inch variants.

These laptops are expected to be introduced in June along with new Apple laptops, according to Know Your Mobile.

Such appears to coincide with a previous report (via a Taiwanese site), which mentioned that the MacBook Air will be released in the third quarter of this year, specifically during the Worldwide Developers' Conference in June.

On the other hand, Master Herald gathered that the 2016 MacBook Air has a different launch date, which is expected to be in March, contrary to the report of launching it in June's event.

Reports on the release date for the upcoming MacBook Air are contradicting as they are based on speculations. But it's expected that an official announcement should be dropped anytime this year.

Meanwhile, more interesting rumors suggest that the next MacBook Air will be solar-powered. Parent Herald reports that Apple recently acquired a patent that has something to do with the particular feature. The news outlet speculates that the Cupertino-based tech giant is likely to apply the patent on its upcoming devices.

The 2016 MacBook Air could also be the last device belonging to the Air lineup, according to Master Herald. The report mentioned that the tech giant seems to have a lot of products competing in the laptop market, which is why the Air 2016 could soon be discontinued.

Then again, all these reports should be taken with a grain of salt. Apple has yet to issue an official statement about the 2016 MacBook Air and the rest of its upcoming laptops.
