Having prayer difficulties? Christian dad discovers one prayer that always works

God always answers prayers, and He either answers with yes, no, or wait.

Matt Chambers, a devoted Christian father who founded the non-government organisation Safeworld, believes there is great power in prayer, and he always makes it a point to pray with his family.

"We pray before meals (which right now consists of our 3-year-old twins begging to bless the meal and then praying for everything they can think of—living and non-living). We pray before bed. There are whispered prayers, light prayers, heavy prayers, grateful prayers and painful prayers," he writes in an article for Charisma News.

However, lately he found himself struggling a lot with the practice of prayer. During dark times, Chambers says his prayers have him literally throwing his hands up in frustration, doubt, or fear. There are even times when it seems like God isn't even listening to his prayers, but amidst his prayer difficulties, Chambers discovered the one prayer that works every single time.

"It's not 'The Prayer of Jabez' or some magical concoction of words," he says.

The prayer is pretty simple, and it goes like this: "God, please show me how I can invest in someone else today."

"Sometimes all I have to do is look up after I finish praying that line, and it's already been answered," continues Chambers. "There are people around us all the time. Even if you're a stay-at-home mom, there is always someone who could use an extra word of love, assurance or hope. There is always someone who might need a few bucks to cover their grocery bill. There is always someone who is searching."

Chambers adds that those prayers are answered as soon as they form in people's hearts. People have the opportunity to carry out God's work here on Earth, and it is important for people to care for others in order to bring His realities to life.
