'Criminal Minds' season 10 release date, spoilers: Full cast to return

One of the most loved TV crime drama "Criminal Minds" will be coming back for season 10 and executive producers of the show guarantee that season 10 will be just as exciting and thrilling, if not more.

Back in the season finale of season 9, Reid went after a group of criminals that kill prostitutes. While he survived the crossfire, he is still not out of harm's way. Reid is still in trouble and this will be one of the main plots in season 10.

"Criminal Minds" executive producer Erica Messer shared her thoughts about the season 9 finale with TV guide, saying "No one is safe. This [episode] has that urgency to it and that you can really trust no one, and you feel that."

Messer added: "Things aren't as they seem in this small town. There's a bigger conspiracy at play and they don't know what that is at first. They're aware somebody is framing The Preacher for this crime. Our path at the end of [Episode] 23 lets us know that The Preacher isn't behind it, so in 24 it's, 'Well, who is it?' There's a big cover-up. There's a constant threat to our team because what they will uncover is a pretty big deal and their lives are in serious jeopardy."

Many had wondered if the season was even renewed because it took a while before it was. Joe Mantegna (Speial Agent David Rossi) addresses the rumor by saying, "Yeah, they gave us a break this time. I kept reassuring the crew, because they always have fears about that stuff, but I'm practical ... and I've been around long enough, too. I saw our [ratings] numbers and how we were doing, and I've also done a couple of European press tours for the show, and I see its popularity worldwide. Look, they may dance around with us for a while for whatever reasons, but trust me. This show has real value. Our numbers are so good that we're still one of the top shows out there, so we're not going anywhere. Nothing on the horizon is going to make this go away, at least not in the near future."

Looks like Mantegna is telling the truth because all the show's main stars will be coming back for the 10th season and the new season is "going to be a big season," says A.J. Cook (Jennifer Jareau).

"Criminal Minds" season 10 is slated to be back on September 20 or 26 on the same time slot, 9pm EDT, Wednesday.
