A multi-million pound care home for dementia sufferers in Aberdeen is being built by the social care arm of the Church of Scotland, CrossReach.
Building work on the £6m state-of-the-art Rubislaw Park House care home, on Rubislaw Park Road, includes rooms for 64 residents and is due to be completed by the summer.
The building has been designed by Aberdeen architects Jenkins and Marr SMC, with input from CrossReach and the Dementia Services Development Centre at Stirling University.
Nigel Glover, CrossReach project planning officer, said, “It is important that dementia sufferers are cared for in safe and appropriate surroundings, ones that meet the specific needs that this degenerative condition requires.”
The Church has provided care for the elderly in Aberdeen for over 50 years.
