Christian Aid and Evangelical Alliance will be providing highly inspirational keynote speakers to head up the ‘Repairer of Broken Walls’ conference being held at Liverpool Lighthouse, Anfield, on 3 October.

In the face of breakdown in families, communities, economic systems and the environment, the conference aims to provide church leaders and members from across the UK with the tools and models needed to either kick-start or develop their community transformational programmes.

Best practices will be shared and discussed during the day’s schedule. The event will also include prayer and worship. Love and Joy’s senior Pastor Dr Tani Omideyi said: “When things get really desperate as they are now, it will take God to truly bring about change, and the church as the ‘body of Christ’ is in that unique position of being God’s agent for change. The church has a unique role to play that we need to rise up to.”

It will also be the platform for Evangelical Alliance’s launch of their Square Mile programme in the North West. The Evangelical Alliance's Krish Kandiah said: “Churches all around the UK are making a huge impact on their communities. The Square Mile programme tells the inspiring stories of Christians around the UK that are making a difference – come and be encouraged, equipped and empowered to make a difference in your square mile.”

Christian Aid is set to bring an international focus to the discussions with its international director Dr Daleep Mukarji as guest speaker. There will also be a youth focus as Christian Aid simultaneously lead a practical youth workshop between 2pm and 4pm. Ronald Labady from Christian Aid in Haiti who is running the youth programme aims to tackle how young people can make a difference in society and with their missions.
