'Bones' season 11 spoilers: Unique murder lures Brennan and Booth back to Jeffersonian Institute

Bones season 10 Fox

The season 10 finale of "Bones" showed that a lot of things will change when FOX's long-running crime procedural comedy returns for season 11 this fall, particularly in the lives of Brennan and Booth.

Based on the press release of the network for "Bones" season 11, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) will finally find the peaceful and safe life that they have been longing for after leaving the FBI and the Jeffersonian lab for the sake of their growing family. But it seems like the bliss will not last that long. The press release says:

Picking up six months after the Season 10 finale, Brennan and Booth have moved on to a new town and new jobs, having given up their old life and settled into a blissful death-free existence. But a murder unlike any other draws them back to investigate with their former colleagues at the Jeffersonian and FBI."

How can a case make the couple trade their now happy life and lure them back into the chaotic, risky job of solving murder?

Meanwhile, series executive producer Stephen Nathan revealed to TVLine that Hodgin's (TJThyne) brother Jeffrey (Jonno Roberts) will return in "Bones" season 11. Nathan admitted that Jeffrey was supposed to return last season but the actor had prior commitments.

The character was first introduced in season 9 when Hodgins accidentally discovered that he has a brother that was confined by their parents at an institution because of schizophrenia. Because of his reluctance to go to a state institution, Jeffrey ran away and Hodgins decided to look after him. But the episode ended in a cliffhanger, which means that there are more to explore in their story.

Hodgins will stay in Jeffersonian with Angela (Michaela Conlin) to fill in the vacant spots left by Brennan and Booth in season 11, instead of pursuing their original plan to move to Paris.

"Bones" season 11 premieres on Oct. 1.
