Bible Society tweets the uneggspected

The Bible Society is taking to Twitter to share some of the Bible's less well known stories over the Easter weekend.

The 140-character updates will go out on the hour, every hour, as a way of celebrating God's surprising gift to mankind of Jesus through his death and resurrection.

From midnight on Good Friday to midnight Easter Sunday, 72 other surprising stories from both the Old and New Testament will be tweeted from @biblesociety with the hashtag #uneggspected.

Bible Society's Rachel Rounds said: "There are so many unexpected stories in the Bible that may surprise people. They deserve a wider audience and deeper consideration.

"The Bible contains many controversial stories and although we are showing some in only 140 characters, we want this to be the start of a conversation not the final word."
