In the next episode of "Young Sheldon," genius Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) attempts to find the definition of religion and what it means to him.
The trailer and promotional photos for the upcoming installment, which is titled "Demons, Sunday School, and Prime Numbers," were just released recently, and they show Sheldon researching and reflecting about religion.
In his religion class, he raises his hand to ask questions about faith. Later he asks his good friend Tam (Ryan Phuong), "You're Catholic, right? Explain it to me."
His grade school buddy tries to make it simple to understand and says, "Every once in a while, you have to confess your sins to a priest."
Sheldon contests that he has no sins, but his friend retorts, "Then you have the sin of pride."
"Your religion is making me feel bad," the young boy says with disappointment. Tam replies in agreement, "That's how you know when it's working."
Apparently, Sheldon's religious quest started when his mom Mary (Zoe Perry) saw him playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends. This prompted her to send the genius to Sunday school to be more religious. It seems that Mary thinks that the board game is not religion-friendly. It remains to be seen whether or not Sunday school will help Sheldon figure out what religion is and what it means in his life.
In the last episode, Sheldon was sent to a special school for the gifted in Dallas to help him enhance his intellectual abilities. However, it turned out that his family missed him very much at home. Moreover, Sheldon missed his family as well. His dad George (Lance Barber) went back to Dallas to get him. In the end, they were all happy with that decision.
"Young Sheldon" season 1 episode 11 will hit the airwaves on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 8:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
