According to reports released in December 2014, Xiaomi is currently enjoying the third spot as the world's largest smartphone maker, and with its aggressive pricing strategy, any dominating phone maker would be brought to its knees. Xiaomi is undoubtedly aiming higher with the release of its Mi Note and current flagship smartphone, the Mi Note Pro.
Both the Mi Note and the Mi Note Pro possess the same screen size and the capability to house two SIMs in the same chassis (microSIM and nanoSIM), but the very first difference lies in the Mi Note Pro's resolution. It renders a quad HD display (2560 x 1440 pixels) while the Mi Note possesses an HD display.
Going to the internal hardware side of things, the Mi Note Pro runs using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset, which is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and an octa-core processor that is compatible with 64-bit architecture. The Mi Note, in comparison, uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 chipset, and its RAM is a whole GB less than its larger performing brother.
Both of Xiaomi's offerings are void of a microSD slot but the Mi Note is shipped out in 16 and 64 GB capacity variants while the Mi Note Pro is only be available with 64 GB of internal memory. There is only a 90 mAh battery difference between the two devices, with the Mi Note powered by a 3000 mAh battery pack while the Mi Note Pro is equipped with a slightly larger 3090 mAh battery.
In terms of wireless connectivity, both devices possess an 802.11 ac wireless adapter but where the Mi Note Pro is able to overcome the Mi Note is in LTE connectivity speeds. The LTE modem on the Mi Note Pro is capable of delivering maximum download speeds of 450 Mbps (Cat 9 LTE modem) while the Mi Note only has a Cat 4 modem (150 Mbps).
As for the pricing variables, the Mi Note Pro carries a price tag of $532 while the Mi Note is stamped with a friendly $370 price tag.
