Xiaomi Mi 5 specs news: supposed images leak online

Xiaomi Mi 4, the current lineup of Mi smart phones Xiaomi

Although Chinese tech manufacturer Xiaomi has just released a new flagship iteration in the form of the new Redmi 3, hardcore fans of the company's lineups are already wondering when Xiaomi will make a follow-up release, starting with the much-anticipated premium iteration, the Mi 5.

Meanwhile, as expectations rise, speculations about the upcoming flagship continue to float online. The latest rumors suggest that the Mi 5 has been sighted anew, this time via new supposed leaked images of the device.

According to Gadgetz Arena, new images of an alleged "real Mi 5" was seen on Chinese site Weibo (the images have been taken down). While it is still unclear whether the said images are really of the Xiaomi premium flagship, the industry follower said that the device in the photos closely matched those of another supposed leak last December.

Meanwhile, in connection to the supposed leak, GSM Arena reported that the new color variant, black, is just of one version. Supposedly, the images that were floating online were of the base model, with a 2.5 curved glass build on both the front and back, as well as a metal frame chassis on the sides. The display for this base model will allegedly have 1080p resolution.

The industry follower mentioned that aside from the base model images that were leaked online, Xiaomi is planning to release another variant of the Mi 5. This high-end, more premium smartphone will have an all-metal, unibody design, as well as a display with QHD resolution. In addition, the two versions will supposedly come with their own specs as well, with the base model having a 32 GB/3 GB internal storage and RAM option, while the more premium one will come with 64 GB internal memory and 4 GB RAM.
